  1. There lived about forty five years ago a man named Thomas Galligan in Bricagh, Glenfarne who was famous for his strength in lifting things.
    One day he went into a public house in Brockagh. A man named Owen Ferguson was sitting on a chair in the kitchen. Galligan went up to him and lifted Ferguson and the chairs in one hand and carried him own to the counter and put him up on it.
    About fifty years ago there lived in Brockagh, Glenfarne a man named John Keany who was a great swimmer.
    Once he swam from the Boat Quay across Lough Mac Nean to Belcoo and back again. When tired he used to sit on the water.
    He was also a great oarsman and there was no one in the district to compete with him.
    In Minkeeragh, Glenfarne there lived a man about twenty years ago named Owen Cullen who was a noted dancer. He could dance a hornpipe on about a foot square of space with a porringer
