  1. In Stranagress, Glendarne, three very strong men named Pat, Mike and Anthony McGourty lived in the 18th century. Pat and Mike were very strong and could throw a half hundredweight about one hundred yards. Anthony was stronger because he had double ribs. He could outdo any man in work, carrying or throwing. He aslo used to carry big creels of turf from the top of the Lackagh Hills.
