    "straw-boys" used to gather together and then come to the wedding. They created great fun at the wedding.
    They used to get the groom and put him on a chair and then lift him up high over their heads, and after leaving him down they used to get the bride and do the same with her.
    People in those days would not get married on a Monday because it was the beginning of the week, and that it was not lucky. They would not get married on a Saturday because they believed that anything that was done on Saturday was never finished.
