horse was given over to the stable boys.
In the evening when playing cards someone dropped a card on the floor and when stooping to pick it up noticed that the visitor had a cloven foot. A priest was sent for and on the priest entering the room this man disappeared through the hearth, The stable boys thought they would have the horse, but on going to the loose box where he had been locked up, found he had disappeared.
This house is still to be seen outside Dublin, and the hearth in to which this man disappeared was seen by a cousin of mine.
