    They are dug in July and "cally" is made out of them, and it is very nice to eat.
    The people this year cultivated a lot of [?] of mountain land for potatoes.
    Five pounds was the reward given for each acre they put down, by the present government under Mr. De Valera, in order to make the bad lands of the country good. He also gave free lime to kill the bad weeds and worms. He also sent an Inspector to see that the land was well cultivated.
