    Life is short and death is sure,
    A soul I have and only one,
    If that be lost all hope is gone,
    Waste not time, while time shall last,
    For after death tis ever past,
    All seeing God, your judge will be,
    And Heaven or Hell your destiny,
    All earthly things will speed away,,
    Eternity alone will stay.
    At night this was said.
    Eternal Father I offer thee the Sacred Heart with all its love, all the sufferings, and its merits to explate all the sins I have commited this day, during all my life. Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to Holy Ghost.
    When seasons work would be beginning they used say: "God bless the crop that I am preparing to put in,
    This used be said when going on a journey.
    "May Jesus, Mary and Joseph be with us on
