  1. There are two holy wells in this parish. There is one which is situated about a quarter of a mile from the Village of Killargue. People visit it on certain days, namely on the twenty fifth of March, and on the fifteenth of August
    This well is called Tobar Mhuire in honour of the Blessed Virgin Mary. The people wash the affected part with the holy water three times , saying each time, In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost Amen.
    It is supposed that one time a bishop conferred the sacrament of Confirmation beside this well. He was dressed in white garments, and he also blessed the well. Invalids generally drink the water.
    Whenever anybody goes to Tobar Mhuire they always bring holy water home with them.They also bring ferns with them. The holy water is taken from the stream.
    People generally go there on the fifteenth of August. There is not a fish in the well. Many people take off their shoes and stockings and bathe their feet in the stream.
