  1. There are many old proverbs used locally namely, A rainbow in the morning is the shepherds warning, and a rainbow at night is the shepherds delight. Another old proverb is Barking dogs never bite.
    Kind hearts are more than coronets, and simple faith than Norman blood. Make hay while the sun shines. Early to bed and early to rise makes a man healthy, wealthy and wise. A little pot is soon hot.
    A stitch int ime saves nine. One good turn deserves another. It is never too late to mend. Little said is easily mended. Never put off until to morrow what you can do to day. While there is life there is hope. The early bird catches the early worm. Plough deep while sluggers sleep, and you'll have corn to sell and to keep.
    The eye of a master don does more work than his hands and feet. A rolling stone gathers no moss. Old age is honourable. Honesty is the best policy. Mocking is catching. Keep anything for seven years, and you shall surely find use for it. Health is the greatest riches a man can possess. Courage is the half of the battle.
    Health is better than fortune. Fools rush in where angels fear to tread. Immodest words admit of
