colours of the rainbow and its beauty baffles description. The night of the thirty first of October is also given over to a very old custom dating back for centuries. It is called Hallowe'en and on this night numbers of boys and girls dress in the most fantastic attire and go by the name of Cauthaleens. They go from house to house where they dance, sing and make merry and their visit is always expected and very much appreciated.
May Day is very much associated with old customs and tradition. For instance no person would think of letting out a lighted turf or coal on that day as it was believed to bring away their good luck for the remainder of the year.
