  2. The following story is told by Michael Dee Carrigisland, who got it from John McGibben Carrigisland, Ballylongford, Co. Kerry, farmer, aged about 60 who got it from his grandfather, who lived in the Island.
    He told me that the old Abbey which can still be seen in our farm at home was once a monastery in which many monks lived. The monastery was at one time invaded but he
