A person passing at milking time should say "God bless the cows"...

"A person passing at milking time should say "God bless the cows".
If the cows cough the person nearest to her says "troith ar aghaidh".
On getting a drink of milk "God bless the cows" is said on finishing the drink.
If a person remarks on the appearance of animals the speaker should say "God bless the animal" lest he should be the possessor of a grudging mind and so "overlook" the animal.
An "overlooked" animal is supposed to pine away and die.
If the person who "overlooked" it can be found he is brought to see it and has to say "God bless it" then it gets better.
If he can not be found the "Alphabet" is written on paper and the paper is then burned under the animal's nose. The name of the overlooker is then supposed to be burned.
When giving out sweet milk a pinch of salt is added, to prevent the person from bringing butter,
Never bring anything out of a house while they are churning.
