- When a person is a putting over board it is not right to step across the corpse.
The same people who dressed the corpse must coffin them.
The clock is stoped when the person dies cats nor dogs should not be allowed in. If the person dead is very limber it is a sign they will be followed by a relative.
If the clay falls in on the coffin it is also a sign they will be followed by a relative.
When a person dies suddenly the people say they were brought away by the good people.
Families of O or Mac are cried by the ban-shee. No work is done in a townland where a person is dead.
The ashes are never put out.
The feet are always foremost going out of the house and the same to the grave. All locks in the house such as locks on chests, drawers and presses are left open. If the lid must be opened on the coffin again no one of the relative can look on the remains.
