    When they twisted the wheel the thread was twisting together and winding into the spindle.
    When the spindle was full they took it out and made the thread into a ball. Then it was ready for use.

  2. Long ago before any oil or lamps were used the old people made candles themselves. They made them in the following manner.
    First they put hot tallow into a pan. Then they got a cord and kept dipping it into the tallow until it was thick enough. They put it outside the door to dry.
