  1. The old people used many cures for diseases long ago.
    They used the leaves that grew on the top of the swamp to cure a burn.
    They used frog's legs for a toothache. They used the milk of the "baineen" for a toothache also.
    They used burnt bran for an earache. They burnt the bran and put it into a cloth and put it up against their ears.

  2. The old people used the following cures for diseases long ago.
    When a person had a blood-nose they tied a string round his small finger.
    If a person had a sore foot they got the green leaves which grew on the top of the water and put them against the sore, to cure it.
