  1. The Food People Had Long Ago
    The food people had long ago was a lot different to the food now. The olden people had no food but "stampy" and potatoes.
    They made the "Stampy" in the following manner. They got a piece of tin to grate the potatoes. Then they got the flour and mixed it with the potatoes. Then they got milk and wet the flour and potatoes to make a dough. Then they got an oven and baked it. When it was baked it was taken up and left get cold for a while. They used to have buttermilk with the stampy.
    The old people also used to have "Candy". It was made in the following manner. They got yellow meal and mixed it with milk. Then they baked it on a "griddle". It was baked very hard so as it would stick to - gether. This was eaten for their supper by them. Sometimes they used to have potatoes three times a day. They used to have them for their breakfast dinner and supper. They also made stir - about. It was made in following manner.
    First they put a pot of water on the fire. When the water was boiling they mixed meal with it. It was left
