    Bhí fear ann fadó agus bíodh sé ag dul treasna an bhealaig gach oidhce ag imirt cártaí.
    Oidhche amháin bhí se ag dul treasna an bhealaig agus chonnaic sproid.
    Oidhche eile bhi sé ag dul ann agus bhí capall bán aige agus chonnaic sé an sprid arís.
    Dubhairt sé leis an spriod marcuidheacht do thógaint ar an gcapall.
    Dubhairt an sprid leis an bhfear, dul abhaile agus gan dul ag imirt cártaí a thuilleadh.
    Níor dhein an fear rud ar an sprid.
    D'imthig sé agimirt cártaí.
    Nuair a bhí sé ag teacht abhaile do bhuail na púcaí leis agus do marbhuigeadar é.
