   There was a man in Glenbeigh named John O'Connor who used to make candles out of the fat of cows. He had only a small patch of land and a small mud house. He had a mould for making them which he placed on a sod of turf and he melted the fat and poured it into the mould. The neighbours used to buy the candles from him and he began to get rich and he used to sell other home made articles. He built a new house and a big shop.
