and this is continued all the time.
Another game that is played by the fireside on the Winter's night a small stick is lit in the fire and is passed from one to another saying "seo mo bherín cad a dheen sé duit ná bfaigheann mo bherín bás idir bo dá lámh trom trom ort." if this quenches when passing to anyone a weight is put on their his head asking what it is. If they do not know it another one is put on top of it and this is continued until they find it out.
Another game is "High-gates" all catch and go around in a ring, one stays out and travels around the ring and strikes the one she likes best, this one hunts and catches her. Two other nice games that are played are "frog in the middle" and "Sally water" these are played the same way but a person stands in the middle and a verse is sung in both "Sally, sally water, water in the pan, rise up sally and choose to your man, Choose to the east and choose to the west and choose to the very one you love best." this verse is said in "frog in the middle" "frog in the middle don't bite me" and this is repeated over and over again and the child in the middle tries to catch them by the legs.
